- My 73 Midget doesn't have a stock exhaust system on it and the tail pipe sticks out about 4" past the rear bumper. I get exhaust fumes rolling foreword up the trunk and get gassed. By exhaust that is

- Jerry, mine is a stock exhaust exiting behind the driver (USA) and sticks out about 1 in. past the highest part of the curve of the rear panel, looking straight down. I don't really notice the exhaus

- I don't think this is the cause of the exhaust problem. Mine doesnot come past the bumper and I have no exhaust smell at all. I think I would be checking for an exhaust system leak somewhere. --David
