Does an electric fan work better than the 6-bladed yellow plastic fan?? I currently have the old 4-bladed steel fan and was going to replace it with the plastic one... Summer temperatures up here sit

You can shoehorn an electric fan behind the rad of a Spridget if you use a Spitfidget radiator cowl. Since most electric fans have a built in shroud, you can probably expect better cooling from them.

IMHO, yes it does. I feel that the original setup worked fine on the original drivetrain in England. If your engine is a bit hotter than stock and/or you live in a hotter/dryer climate than Merry Ol

I change my bugeye over from the 4-blade steel fan to the plastic blade. There was a definite improvement in cooling. The plastic fan moves more air for several reasons. 1) the profile of the blades

The six-bladed plastic fan (BTDT) blades have a greater angle of attack (AOA) than the steel fans and thus produce far more airflow at similar rpms, and most especially in the lower range wherein one

If you go the electric puller fan route, remember that thickness of the fan is CRITICAL. Even with the 1500 shroud there is only enough room for a slim fan. I have just finished carving my fan to fi

DO NOT use the Mini fan!!! Someone else on one of the lists used one, AEJ I believe, and found out it was a pusher, not a puller. Tends to make ones car overheat. YMMV, but I doubt it.

To all who replied... Thank you very much. I have the down flow radiator with the massive fan shroud. So, thanks to your input(s), I have decided that when the time comes I will replace the 4-bladed

I have found that a pusher fan is useless, and actually makes the car run hotter. A good radiator and a six-bladed plastic fan solved my problem. Bud Whitey - 1275 Street Bugeye SilverStreak - 1275 R
