Mine is in the boot, just above the fuel tank. I didn't put it there, but it has been no problem. I haven't done it yet, but it would be easy to put a pre-pump filter back there and check and change

I put mine in the trunk..easier to tap (or hit) it with a chunk of wood or hammer to get it working whenever it stops. Plus it is easy to tell when it starts to leak and needs to be replaced. Dean "6

Good idea. Mine is placed on the right side of the interior boot on my '79, and I eliminated that unsightly crossover muffler behind the fuel tank, so that the exhaust comes straight out the left rea

The nearer the fuel tank the better, because electric fuels pumps push fuel much better than they suck fuel. In actual practice, the lower the better works just as well, so that you can take advantag
