I use washing soda. As Frank said, pedal box came out clean/de-rusted and the brass/bronze bushings came out fine. I would suggest that you might want to soak those bushings overnight in oil like you

I would suggest that you might want to soak those bushings overnight in oil like you would a new pilot bushing. David Lieb 1972 RWA
