- Perhaps this will help. I send a rare distributor (early Autolite) from my 1950 Chris Craft out to Petronix for them to custom fit an electonic ignition setup. Turn around time was about 3 weeks, job

- I have a 69 plus 8 with probably the same distributor. The Pertronix Ignitor LU-181 will work. I have run it since 1997 and purchased it from CBS Performance Auto in Colorado. They were at 719-632-14

- Sorry, I should have clearer. What I was attempting to observe was that the Packard dual points/coil arrangement is an example of a solution to the problem you cited. I'd prefer to keep the points.

- DAVID - The item number for the Mallory breakerless, magnetic, distributor with vac advance for our cars (early +8 engines) is : 5764301. This is the same application as the early ca. 1961 Buick 215.
