There should be an engine number plate - it is located on the passenger side of the engine on a flat plate. just below the head, center of the block. If it is there, it should start off with 18G and

Hi Doug, Look at the lower driver's side of the engine block, just behind the motor mount. If there's a blanking plate over a fuel pump boss it's likely an 18GV (late) engine. All the GH and earlier
