I'm looking to possibly buy an engine/transmission out of a '69 midget to replace a tired 948. It's ID is 12CD-DA 20465. What's CD? I thought MG was CC or CG and Austin-Healey was C. I've never run a

CD is the next engine id after CC which was the start of the 1275s in 1967. CD started in 1968 so if it's from a 69 Midget, it is an original 69 engine. -- Frank Drive it or give it to somebody that

I was given an A series engine taken from a Bugeye - has side covers, and a plate with "1100" on it, so obviously a 1098 cc... the only markings I can find on the engine though are 12 G 432 and MOWOG

Air injection began on '68 model year cars (NOV '67 - first emission control production [OSM pg.115]) Earliest 1275's had a thin oil sump flange block casting. (pictures in OSM to compare) Check OSM

Thanks, I'll check my OSM. It does have the fuel pump port as that is where the crankcase vents from. It also appears to have the thick sump flange. Got the 62 added to the insurance today and I'm g
