- Have you replaced the condenser? I have found that without giving it a rub with sandpaper it will not ground correctly and will give intermittent problems as you describe as well as fail prematurely

- Check fuel supply. Disconnect at the carbs and use a can to catch the gas. Turn on the switch and see how fast the gas flows into the can. If its slow check the filter in the SU pump. If that's OK a
