Synthetics are excellent lubricants but do not swell seals like natural oil. Therefore, the likelihood of leaks is much higher. I use Mobil1 in my 22 year old Ferrari but Castrol GTX in my MGs. rick

Actually, only the very early Mobil 1 synthetic oil had a seal problem. They have since added a seal conditioner to synthetic oil. I don't think the use of synthetic oil is causing a leak, but maybe
