I just used the Moss paint and have had no problems on a block that had been hot tanked. I am sure there is engine temp primer out there, it may lengthen your reinstallation for time between coats.

I just used aerovol for red spray paint. It looks better (less orange) than the other red engine emamels I've seen, but it is not impervious to solvents. lrc
