I've used regular old rustoleam, not high temp. I haven't had any discoloration or fading. Moss sells a spray can of the correct color and I don't believe that it's a hi temp paint. Should need to be

As long as you get it to permanently stick to the metal, it is a good thing for oil return. If it flakes off and travels through the engine oiling system, that is bad. For that reason, I don't paint
