My 1971 MGB has oil on the #2 spark plug. Does this mean I am in for a complete engine rebuild? I have put over 100K on the car in the 8 years I have owned it and god only knows what it had on it bef

Get compression readings first. That will tell you about the rings. Might be a head problem. Carl (Maine) If so, how much $$ in parts and machine shop costs should I expect if I do the rebuild myself

Yes the plug fires (when clean). Starts without any problems. Drives OK but obviously gets rougher and looses power the more it fouls. Compression is around 120 on all cyl except the one was 100 the

Once I take the valve cover off, how do I make sure the valve stem seals? Do I need to blow air through the spark plug hole? I have Boch Platinum plugs in right now. I put a clean one in just now and
