I ordered engine parts from MOSS and the front plate gasket was not available! They said just use a piece of Brown Paper from a shopping bag! I have never heard of anything like that! Is this correct

The front plate gasket is hard to get without buying a complete lower engine gasket set. But that's not very expensive and surely you will need one anyway? As for the brown paper bag suggestion, it's
