I have another question about removing the engine (1980). Do you unbolt the front mounts from the frame or can you leave the mounts bolted to the frame and unbolt them from the engine? The latter app

Ultimately both - while the engine is out, fit new engine mounts!! I had the two sides of one mount completely separate from each other, thanks just to the age of the rubber (and the fantastic torque

Had the same on my V8, with the left-hand mount, although in that case it was very obvious as the gear lever was moving in sympathy with the engine. PaulH. -- Original Message --
