I have a 66 Sprite with a 1098 that has bad noises. I'm swapping in a 1275 from a running parts car. Today I removed both engines. Now I have some questions. 1098 is positive ground with generator.

Generator is all you should have to use, make sure you keep the coil wires just as they are. Put your 1098 exhaust manifold on the 1275 The wire goes to your "change oil filter" light on the dash, i

the spade connector to the oil filter on the 1098 get "capped". there is a light in the middle up the dash, up high, on '66's (and?) when the filter is dirty (as in clogging up) the light comes on.

You can hook up the alternator in the early car easily. Much better than the gennie. Simple to change the polarity. Trade manifolds if you want, but the 1275 manifold has a better hook up to the exha

I think that it's close in size to the Miata and the Miata requires major surgery to fit. A local guy did the Miata swap into his Bugeye. It would be 1 hell of a ride though. Larry Miller
