Well, while we are busy doing virtual engine swaps, how about a Cosworth BDY engine out of a Ford Sierra, (I believe that is the right model). I have heard of people using the Sierra gearbox in MGs.

My vote is for the 2.5l, DOHC v-6 from the Ford Contour SE (That's a Mondeo for you folks in the U.K and on The Continent. Light weight, compact, and powerful.
