John, I can't imagine driving with 455 hp under the hood for normal driving. My love for the Rover engine swap is that the 300 lb saving would all be off the front wheels which would make much better

A Watts linkage could be added to the Brick's leaf-spring rear suspension - it's been discussed here before, but I don't know if anyone here has done it. Originally, that was my intention. However,

Phil, I have never driven a Bricklin either, mine came as a basket case, however some simple maesurements and geometric calculations convinced me that the rear suspension can't fail to bind and even
