- Condenstation, and perfectly normal. When the engine is first started, especially cold (or cool), the hot exhaust gases coming in contact with the relatively cold exhaust pipe, causes the water vapor

- My first thought is water vapor from combustion condensing in the cold exhaust pipe, and soot from the initial rich mixture before the choke's released. The water stops condensing after the ppe's war
