Thanks for that nice obit. I didn't know Stan but dealt with Faspec for many years. I still have one of his nice Bugeye t-shirts. I always had good dealings with Faspec. As for the moral of the story

I think you may be right. I purchased the wire wheels on my bugeye from Stan from an ad he ran in Autoweek when it was still in tabloid newspaper style in the early 80s. The ad had a picture of that
