The fan is correct now, but after 10 minutes gauge ran up to 212. I retrofitted a manual combo gauge and the sensor line grounded uot on the solanoid. Would that be enough to screw up the gauge? Also

The combo gauge is a pressure gauge - no electrics involved, both for temp and oil pressure. Sounds like something else shorted under the dash. Rick is grounded Check out the new British Cars Forum:

Well, on the last drive the dash stuff came back to life, the gauge is still wack tho, reading 220 and it is nowhere near overheating! an air gap perhaps? it registers correctly up to 170 or so and t
