OK, I have some rudimentary engineering background and trying to fill the tranny of a '76B through the side hole from below is a p**-poor design. I guess the electronics wizards designed it. Anyway,

You won't find the "top port" through the interior on your car. Either you have the side fill type (as on your later model) or the top port. If it makes you feel any better, the top-fill type isn't a

I took the easy ( but more expensive route). Go down to your local boat supply house and look for a gear lube pump. Its a plastic pump that screws into the top of the 90W gear lube jug for pumping t

Actually, having the hole there is a good idea. When the trans has the correct amount of oil some dribbles out the hole, no guessing. Car makers don't make the car (even LBC's) to be serviced by the

Yep thats what I use - bought it when I had the Midget (with side fill) and it works great on the top fill on the GT as well. Think it cost about $5 with the 90w in the bottle. Rick

Hmmm, I don't think later trannies have the top port, although the factory left the access hole behind the console. I use the pump from a gallon jug of 90w gear oil. This is like a huge Windex squirt

The original design was to fill at the top, well forward in the footwell. It's ok for one to do at home, but the professionals didn't like that it was such a job to reach and the possibility of an o

I went to the parts store and bought a hand pump for maybe $10 and put it on an old gallon jug and pumped away. 10 min tops. David Stecher 73 BGT
