The Haynes manual tells how much oil (90W) should be used. Too much oil which remins in the gaiters will affect the gaiters lifetime I've been told. Best is not keeping oil in the gaiters for an elon

That was a great description, Charley. I must admit I feel nervous when people describe just injecting oil into one of the gaiters -- it doesn't seem like that would get the job done. I used the meth

Hi Max, Thanks, to each hiz/her own, I guess. As I said in another post, I figure once the gaiters are correctly installed, it's best to leave well-enough alone. Actually, I overfilled mine to begin

Hi Hans, In my view it's better to top up the rack through the damper orifice than to mess with the clamps and gaiters periodically. I'm not going to stretch the gaiters and possibly ruin its sealing

I don't think oil in the rack would have any effect on steering wheel vibration. It isn't there as a cushion, it's to prevent wear on the pinion and rack. If the actual steering is loose (excess play
