A bigger hammer! Use a wood dowel or something similar that will not booger up the threads on the bolts, tap the bolts out, gently tap the caps with a small hammer and they should come off. The only

Try undoing those hexagon shaped things on the bottom of each cap first... I think they're called 'nuts'. Once those are off, things go a lot easier ;-) Hey, I can be a smart-ass too once and a while
