- Are you used to brakes that don't have a power-booster/servo? If you are going to replace discs and pads why not upgrade to bigger discs/calipers. I'd replace the rubber hoses with braided steel hose

- Even without servo, the brakes on a disc- brake spridget should just about make it stand on its nose when set up and applied properly. They do suffer from overheating and fade when used persistently

- A bugeye is giving away even more weight than a box Spridget to a 1500 so make make that 400lbs lighter. So even with rough math the brakes on a 1500 have to do something like 10-12% more work than a
