- Hi list, my Haynes recommends 20W50 oil for the engine but I have my doubts. First of all this is for engine rebuild Im talking about and secondly, where I live temperature is between 10 and 30 C. So

- Keep the 20W50, Have never used anything but. As for break in, you can add some Marvel Mystery Oil (Upper Cylinder Oil) to assist with the process. I would reccomend an oil change after about 500 mil

- I second Ray's advice...especially the 500 mile oil change. You'll have some wear (usual seating of moving parts) in those first 500 miles and you want to get that metal out of the engine. Chuck Youn
