I thought I should add that if you DON'T have metal tangs on the floats (which can happen when the floats have been replaced by a PO), you can still adjust the height by adding or subtracting washers

Very true - for HS carbs. I've never seen an HIF with a float that doesn't have an adjustment tang, though, and I must have rebult literally hundreds of pairs of these SUs over the last 27 years. Law
