Penta wood preservative (or maybe any equivelant). Brush on and let dry. Especially try to fill the edge grain, over and over. Do several coats (over several days maybe) until it won't take any more

Just treat them as you would any plywood, considering their location and exposure. I would spend the extra $$ to get 'marine grade' plywood. The specs for it are that there are no voids on the expose
