Yes and no. There is a port on the inlet manifold for vacuum advance, and leaving it open will adversely affect the mixture. A question for anyone who has seen this....I have a 79 MGB, and saw that I

Plug it!!! Not only can it lean up your mixture (causing the Catalytic Converter to become dangerously hot, if it's still fitted), but it will make the power brakes harder to operate! James J. [demim
