I've been looking for dimensions for Ford modular motors. I want to get an idea on overall size, weight and see if it would work for an engine swap I'm considering. Haven't bee able to find anything

Rich, I took a yardstick to my Lincoln Mark VIII engine after removing the top cover the other day. These are but crude figures but it looks like it is 28-1/2" wide across the valve covers, the heads

I seem to recall that all the 4 valve 4.6 engines used forged cranks. BUT, see the cam drive system and the bore/stroke as major problems as a full boogie race motor. As naturally aspirated, getting

From what I have read, the power limiting factor of modern OEM engines is the specifications that the block was designed to meet. Most aluminum block specifications allow 2.00 HP per cubic inch max.
