I found a way to tone down my loud exhaust without touching the exhaust. Switch from 1.5 roller rockers to stock rockers. Some time ago I blew out a rocker arm on the roller rockers. The rocker came

Any kind of noticable performance decrease? Arent stock rockers only 1.25? I am just considering going to the extra lift roller rockers, but not sure yet. Thanks Toby

Before, it would rev past 7.5k and was still pulling. I'm not sure how high it would go because it felt like it would just keep reving until it broke. Now it starts running out of steam around 6.5k.

Did you measure how much less power it was making? << Using a dB meter inside the car, pointing rearward, the exhaust noise was 125 dB at full tilt with the rollers. With the stock rockers it's 90 dB

There is something else going on here. I switched the other way on my rally/race 1380 and in my race +0.020" motor and the noise levels were not noticebly different. Mike

Isn't the difference in sound actually less INTAKE growl? On Honda's with VTEC variable valve timing there is a noticeable difference in the intake sound when the high lift cam lobes come into play.
