I am installing a steering rack into my '79 Midget. It is getting new tie rod ends. What methods do clever listers use to align the front wheels for toe in/toe out adjustment? Short of taking the car

I've done it with sewing thread the way you describe. If you have the adjustable camber bushings though, you won't get a setting for camber. That can be done as described a week or so ago. Glen for

15 full turns of each tie rod end will get you close. Then a tape measure and a helper across the back of the wheels and again across the front of the wheels. The front number should be 1/16 to 1/8 L
