I think if you choose to use lock washers instead of the lock tabs, use some Lok-tite on the threads as well. Another altetnative, if you have a drill press, is to cross-drill a small hole through t

Speaking from Someone who almost lost a caliper bolt because he didn't have the lock tab down tight enough and the bolt worked loose (albeit four years later)- Tighten the bolts to the correct torque

You missed the guy's point. He was looking for an easier method to use to keep the bolts from falling out. Your method, although possibly better, is definitely not easier. safety
