- Most likely the lower a-arm inner pivot bushings are shot (cheap rubber bits). Recommend switching to Urethane bushings, or to the MGB GT V8 bushings. Check here for a picture tour of the process: ht

- You also might want to just make sure all visible nuts and bolts are tight... I always seem to find a few in the process of coming adrift, especially on the lower spring pan/A-arm area. -- Max Heim '

- In my case, I stripped the front suspension completely and renewed everything that was worn. I was able to revive the dampers with no dead spots using fresh 20W oil. However there is still a "clonk"
