- The front springs on my '71 B are an inch too low (and my rears are an inch too high). I've measured the axel to chrome strip distance on dozens of level looking B's, and I believe I have a good idea

- Those spacers will work for a short time, but they may cause the spring to break. Imagine taking a fishing rod and holding it at the grip and the tip. Bend it, and you can flex it almost all the way

- Look in the workshop manual for pictures of MGBs. When I replaced rear springs in my GT, it was then quite high at the back. A spring shop pointed out the me that the front springs age too. New coil
