So y'all are saying that 0.5 psi of fuel head in a vent is enough to prevent a pump from sucking sufficiently into the pump? With or without gravity feed? Only pumps that won't self-prime? Benn pisto

No he used a larger line but fuel sloshed into the line and pooled at the bottom--therefore restricting and plugging the vent line and the tank pulled a vacum to over come the "p" trap effect.. !!!!!

It's an air vent. They pressurize it by air flow to make sure the fuel pumps don't starve. Probably has the same flow as the line back to the pumps. GOOD POINT thanks JACK
