The inertia switch can be done using an accelerometer sensor or by a pendulum type switch but you're going to be pretty annoyed when you hit a sharp bump in the road and it exceeds the threshold you'

My inertia switch has been in place for over two years and no problems yet. And I've gone over some pretty big bumps, not to mention having very stiff suspension. Roland On Mon, 8 Dec 2003 09:01:50 -

Hope this doesn't come through twice. I forgot to edit the trailer off of my initial try. I have both kinds in my Cobra wired in series. I also ran the fuel pump voltage connection through a relay to

Race organizations want the manual switch as mandatory. It is simple, near fool proof, and when hidden (NOT SCCA APPROVED) can be a theft stopper. Your car is only a block away when it stops. An oil

One feature the inertia switch shares with the manual cutoff (for theft prevention) is that it can be easily activated manually. How many thieves are going to know, or even suspect you have one? BTW,

Most cars, for the last ten to fifteen years, with electric fuel pumps have inertia cut off switches. They are readily available in junk yards or parts stores. They are easy to test and reset before
