You are right, all of the Frogeyes had the same fuel sending gage (2A404). With the introduction of the Mark II (and Midgets), the unit was changed to 2A168. There is only a very minor difference, a

Is that the twist in locking ring type? If so soak it in some penetrarting oil then tap it out with a brass punch and brass hammer (no sparks!) against the tabs on the ring. Peter S.
