- The valves inside the pump are probably leaking which cause the pressure to drop so the pump gives another pump (click). You can easilly replace these if it's an su. I don't know I have a B The fuel

- this car, so I don't know if this was always the case or not. If it is an aftermarket pump it may very well tick all the time. I have never heard an SU pump do this unless there was a leak somewhere.
