plates are in real bad state. Does anybody know where I can get replacement faces? facia of the clock. Anybody know why and how to solved this problem?

By face plates do you mean the glass, the bezel (the chrome part) or the face of the gauge?? The glass face (or is it plastic?) can be reproduced in a number of ways. Use the old ones as a template

By the time you spend 20 hours farting around with said instrument you could have sent it to MoMa and had it back, installed in car, drivrn a couple hundred miles, and fixed something else!!!!!!! Wh

I'd recommend Mo Ma Manufacturing in New Mexico. They did my Morgan gauges some years back and the result was BEAUTIFUL. They just regeared my Austin Healey speedo and were very friendly and reliabl
