I have a small GM automatic transmission on the back of a 2.8 V-6 that I got in a trade. I don't know that the transmission is. I think it's either a TH200 or TH2004R. Does anybody know how to tell a

The THM 200 will be stamped in raised lettering " metric " on the pan, it will be somewhat small with a corner cut sharply off similar to a THM 350 trans. The THM 200R4 will have a long narrow pan, f

I am guessing this trans came from a S-10 pick-up truck or 2 wheel drive

The 2004R trans' all came in full size rear wheel drive cars. The Chevy S-10 PU and Blazer, and GMC equivalents, all came with 700R4 trans' but they may have a funky bell housing that bolts to the 4'

My 1984 Monte Carlo equipped with a 305 V8 had a THM 200R4 bolted up to it. This was a mid size car. Had a 1982 Malibu Station Wagon with the 229 V6 it had a THM 250 bolted to it. From what I remembe

Tony G's right! The TH200 is a turd. It had a very short life span in GM production. Although, you can modify them to handle reasonable torque ratings and some are even used successfully in Drag Raci
