With the correct clutch plate it should be a snap installing a TR6 engine into a GT6. Except: The carb setup on a TR6 engine may not fit under the bonnet. I don't know for sure, but it's a tight fit

Larry, Interesting you should be commenting on this subject. A Line participant in Austin has done the conversion, and I am in process of building a "Street" engine for the same conversion. Also, Ni

Peter, See my response to previous post. My server seems to work backwards. It posts new messages before older ones. I have a 69 GT6+ body I would like to possibly dispose of. Complete body, chassis

You ask about putting a TR6 engine in your GT6... I feel that Tony and I ought to have a standard answer that could be posted to the group every coupla months, just to cover this question. Here's my

As Tony pointed out - I am in Austin, TX, and have the setup you are talking about. I have an early TR6 engine (or perhaps a TR250 - that question is still up in the air) with a late head (post 1972)

I'll admit that it's been quite some time since I've had a GT6 gearbox disassembled, but I don't remember the lay gear being bronze. I'd be surprised if bronze would hold up for very long in such an

Bruce, I've got two GT6 and one TR6 transmixers open at this moment. Both GT6 boxs contain a bronze lay gear while the TR6 box has steel. In addition, the steel gear is longer and the lay shaft is a

Bruce, One is from a 67 Gt6, the other is 66. The TR6 is fron a 72. I know I'm not going nuts. In both the GT6 trannies, the lay gear is a heavy copper color bronze gear. One end has a row of teeth
