I went out last night to try and lift the back end of the engine so I could clear the gearbox for removal. I have a 2x10 block piece under the oil pan and then the jack. As I try and lift the engine

Try finding a thinner board and place it on the rear oil pan bolts. That way you jack against something solid. Also be sure as you jack that there is nothing restricting the path of the tranny. (THi
