I di d a mismatched 4:11 gear set in my Vitesse, and it howled like a son of a gun at different speeds, almost silent at others. Aside from that it seemed to work fine. I eventually put in a matched

You certainly can't mix up different ratios as the size of the teeth are different - mixing up different sets of the same ratio will result in noise and premature wear so in general it is a waste of
