Just to add to the discussion. My '03 Dodge Dakota gets better mileage on the mid grade than the "regular". About 2 - 3 MPG better in fact. I never ran the Premium gas so I have no idea the effect of

Not surprising, Larry... same with my Frogeye and '85 GTi. Both can get by on 89PON but the Frog idles and runs a lot better (smoother) on 93, most especially during summer temps. The GTi "wakes up"
