As I can see, the only place the gas tank in my bugeye can vent pressure is through the gas cap. In checking out the bottom of the cap, there are two small holes near the center and two more holes ne

This is exactly what I did to give proper venting to the tank on my Frog with my MiniMania chromed flip-open cap. It worked. Trim the gasket. Cap'n. Bob '60 :{)

Vented gas caps are supposed to allow air to enter the tank as fuel is consumed, but are not supposed to exhaust fuel fumes to the atmosphere. The cap design, along with the location of the vent hole

In Australia, we only recently started getting ethanol blended fuels appearing at filling stations. Some of the independent stations got on to it first, and I am quite happy to save up to 10c per lit

I'm pretty sure my 1.8 Miata has a hemi head. I'm not sure if it is truly hemispherical, but there are 4 valves per cylinder and the chamber looks to be hemispherical. Cheers, Derf
