I finally got a chance to get the intake and exhaust manifolds off my 77 Midget. The solution for the two bolts between the manifolds was to take a 9/16" open end wrench and bend it about 15-20 degre

Try the spark plug - turn the engine over method, but this time roll the car down the drive way and pop the clutch in first gear. You'll spin the engine faster and thus get more compression then the

Here is a weird trick I read, I thought from here. Get some rope, and push as much as you can through the sparkplug hole in number two or three when it is just starting to come up towards the top of

If the engine is still in the car do the following Put All the plugs back in, and make sure that you have a good battery. Spin the engine and the compression should blow the head off the gasket. Law

You know, if it's REALLY harsh you can always put the intake manifold back on and start the car, with all the head nuts removed. If 150psi of starting compression won't fire it, 600psi of running com

This is a good routine if the rocker arms are still in place, but in this case they are off the engine. No way to get air in the engine to compress and blow off the head. With old Ford V-8s that had
