Not on the early cars, the VIN stamps appear on the later DOT cars. So far I have not run across a VIN stamping on the pre-67 MGB. Anyone???? A while back I was trying to accumulate this information

Grant, supposedly the early cars have the chassis number (which is what you want) stamped onto the front subframe somewhere around one of the engine mounts. I don't recall if I read this in Clausager

Hmmm... are you sure you are looking in the right place? ..."the right-hand inner wing valance in front of the radiator". If there are two empty screw holes in this location I'm afraid you're right.
