First ensure the gauge is correct! Get a cheap add-on unit to run temporarily. Did you drain the cooling system AND the block? Refill with the correct blend of coolant and water? If still trouble the

The gauge idea is worth doing since I already had the radiator reconditioned and cleaned by a good local shop, they said it was in good shape. I did drain the block using the plug on the right side o

I hope it's not, seing as I have exactly the same symptoms as you and would be realy dissapointed if it is. Especialy as I spent along time fixing up the electrical system. I can swap the fule gadge
