MY OPINION: You can change fabric on the seats to leather or another fabric under comfort and convenience. You don't have to replace door panel fabric, etc. or paint color when doing so. Again, my op

BTW, get the seat fabric overlay from the dealer. It will fit great. Take off the old fabric and put on the new. "Hog rings" clamp it to the seat structures. If you do it yourself there are "hog ring
