I used a two part fiberglass resin, brushed on. I think I put on two or three coats then sanded and painted. So far so good.

I faced the same problem with my MK1 hardtop. I was told to get some of the 'flexable' fiberglass 'bondo' (as used on the Saturn or those GM plastic panelled vans and use it to patch up the mess. Fir
